YEREL HALKIN TURİZM ALGISINI BELİRLEMEYE YÖNELİK ALTERNATİF BİR ÖLÇEK GELİŞTİRME: KARATAŞ DESTİNASYONU ÖRNEĞİ

Abstract

Bu çalışmanın amacı, bir bölgede turizmin gelişmesi halinde karşılaşılması muhtemel olumlu ve olumsuz durumlara ilişkin yerel halkın algısını ve beklentilerini belirleyebilen, literatürde yer alan ölçeklere alternatif geçerli ve güvenilir bir ölçek geliştirmektir. Yerel halkın turizm algısını ölçmek için, konuyla ilgili daha önce yapılan çalışmalarda yer alan soru maddelerinden, akademisyenlerden ve turizm sektörü aktivistlerinden görüşler alınarak bir madde havuzu oluşturulmuş ve bu doğrultuda ölçek hazırlanmıştır. Hazırlanan ölçeğin geçerlilik ve güvenilirlik testi Adana ili Karataş ilçesindeki yerel halka uygulanarak yapılmıştır. Çalışmanın ana kütlesini oluşturan Karataş ilçesinde, güven aralığının %90 ve örneklem hatasının %5 olarak kabul edilmesi durumda çalışma 286 birimlik bir örneklemle gerçekleştirilmiştir. Elde edilen verilerin analizinde IBM SPSS 24.0 (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences) paket programı kullanılmıştır. Açıklayıcı faktör analizi uygulanarak yerel halkın turizm algısı ölçeğinin faktörleri; “Sosyo-Kültürel Gelişim Etkisi”, “Ekonomik Gelişim Etkisi”, “Çevresel Tahrifat Etkisi”, “Sosyal Tahrifat Etkisi” ve “Kültürel Tahrifat Etkisi” olarak belirlenmiştir. Belirlenen bu faktörler, cinsiyet, yaş, öğrenim durumu, meslek, ikamet süresi vb. değişkenler açısından kıyaslanmıştır. Bu karşılaştırmalar da Mann Whitney U ve Kruskal Wallis testleri kullanılarak yapılmıştır. Çalışmanın sonuçlarına göre; Karataş ilçesindeki yerel halkın belirlenen bütün faktörlerce değerlendirilmesi neticesinde ilçelerinde turizmin gelişmesinin büyük ölçüde kendileri ve ilçeleri için olumlu sonuçlar doğuracağı algısının hâkim olduğu tespit edilmiştir.

The development of tourism in a region and its continuity after it has developed depends on the attitudes and behaviors of the local people residing in that region. The aim of this study is to develop a valid and reliable scale alternative to the scales in the literature that can determine the perceptions and expectations of the local people regarding possible positive and negative situations in the case of tourism development in a region. In order to measure the perception of tourism by the local people, an item pool was formed by taking the opinions from academicians and activists of the tourism sector and questionnaires from previous survey studies on the subject. And this direction the scale is prepared. The validity and reliability analysis of the prepared scale was conducted on the local people in Karatas District of Adana. The study was conducted with a sample of 286 units in the district of Karatas, which constitutes the population of the study, where 90% of the confidence interval and 5% of the sample error are accepted. Factors of tourism perception scale of local people by applying explanatory factor analysis; "Socio-Cultural Development Impact", "Economic Development Impact", "Environmental Demolition Impact", "Social Demolition Impact" and "Cultural Demolition Impact". These factors were compared in terms of gender, age, educational status, occupation, residence time etc. variables. These comparisons were performed using the MannWhitney and Kruskal-Wallis tests. According to the results of the study; it has been determined that the development of tourism in the territories of the people of Karataş is determined by all factors, and that the perception of tourism is likely to have a positive effect on them and their district.
